Suicide Awareness…What Helps…What Hurts…For First Responders

• ~Participants will have a better understanding of the “why” of suicide.
• ~Learn simple yet effective tools to help prevent a suicide.
• ~Learn local, state, and national resources for victims of suicide and first responders who are at risk of suicide.

Barb will share the newest research, case stories, and her personal journey in both prevention and
postvention of suicide. Barb has been on the front lines in responding to suicides locally as well
as working with the leaders in suicide prevention both state and nationwide to help develop model
programs. She will help participants walk away feeling more comfortable and confident in having an
open conversation about the subject of suicide and the importance
of mental health.
