Community Mental Health for Central Michigan is proud to announce that Adult Mental Health First Aid available for instruction throughout the CMHCM six county service area. (Due to funding, the course is ONLY open to people who live or work in Isabella, Midland, Osceola, Mecosta, Clare, & Gladwin Counties.)
Adult Mental Health First Aid is a public education program that introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental illnesses, builds understanding of their impact, and overviews common supports. This course uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to offer initial help in a mental health crisis and connect persons to the appropriate professional, peer, social, and self-help care. Participants complete a 2-hour self-paced online class and then attend the virtual instructor-led portion (5.5 hours plus 2 breaks and lunch).
